While most people would hate it, Natasha loves it when people underestimate her. It makes her job so much easier - although, technically, she doesn't really have a job any more. What she's doing is a bit more freelance. A hobby, if you will. If tracking down terrorists and viciously murdering them without leaving a trace of her identity is considered a hobby, anyway.
Whatever. It keeps her occupied.
This time, she's let herself get captured. It sounds a lot easier than it actually is, but it actually took quite a lot of planning, a lot of acting, and a lot of time. But she got in, and now she's busy unlocking her handcuffs so she can recon from the dirty, dingy room they've tossed her in.
Easy enough. Warehouse, docks district - why do dodgy types always make their lair near the docks, it's like it's something ingrained into the villainous psyche - the sounds she'd heard on the drive over with the bag on her head confirmed it, along with the overpowering smell of industry and fish that permeates even in here.
So this is where this particular cell of HYDRA is operating out of; she's been tracking them for weeks, tracing their weapons smuggling operation and getting close to one of their members until she 'slipped up' and got herself 'captured'. It's been a breeze so far. She anticipates the ten, twenty people in the building will be dead within the hour.
Maybe she'll leave one alive to question, but right now? She's not feeling particularly generous. One of them made her chip a nail.
She spares a thought for Steve as she starts assembling her pistol from parts she'd hidden about her person. He's still off chasing Bucky or she figures he'd be by her side right now. He would've enjoyed this. Apart from the murder. She's fairly certain he wouldn't approve of that.
Maybe she'll leave one alive.
